I'm out of subscription and I can't download the areas I originally paid for but hadn't downloaded locally. (I don't expect the latest charts, but I did expect the ones I'd paid for and historically I'm pretty sure that's what I got.)

If you download version 19.2.1 (android) from apkmirror, from before they made this change, you can still download the older paid versions.

I'm grateful for being alerted to the auto renew "feature". As I am on a UK and Netherlands subscription at the moment, but wanted to change over to a Central and West Europe sub for my sailing next year, it would have been very annoying to be auto-renewed. I've been able to cancel my subscription using the 'manage my subscription' button.

Is there an alternatives to Navionics?

I am going to add to the "groan" of garmin buying Navionics.

I just renewed my subscription after a 2 year pause and I see I cannot view maps on a windows pc. I thought they did have this as browser functionality, but perhaps that is just my mis-remembered "mandela affect".

I am NOT happy with navionics/garmin and their model and am open to new suggestions...so... what are alternatives to Navionics?

It is quite plain on their site that Windows is not supported .... I would assume they made decision to have the APP as a support for their main plotter range ..

I don't know if an Android emulator on Windows will display it ??

I am no Garmin fan ... but I do like this app ....

Even without a subscription you can still VIEW MAPS on a windows pc - here Garmin | Marine Maps

What you apparently can’t do is automatic routing. But I have no desire to do that anyway,

My subscriptions have expired and whilst I can view all the charts I downloaded any areas I diudn't down load cannot now be downloaded without a new subscription. I kind of expected this and cannot complain as it makes sense and any time I buy I chart I make sure I fully download it.

However the online charts on the browser do not allow me to zoom in any more. I am wondering if you can zoom in if you are logged in and have an active subscription. Do the on-line charts work if you have a subscription or are they broken for everyone?

This is what I get and if I try to zoom in the whole screen goes grey. It does this on all browsers so it is not a browser issue. I thought perhaps is is because my subscription has expired.

Alternatives to Navionics :
Marine Navigator plus charts, both from Visit My Harbour, work very well .If you are an enthusiast for OpenCPN then O- charts ,bought direct-are good. Costs are much the same.

What alternative is there to Navionics?
I have a Garmin echomap plotter for the lower helm, I had got it to fit on my last boat but found the android tablet with Navionics Boating worked well so never got round to installing it. Our new boat has an already fitted Simrad Go9 plotter on the upper helm and the associated app using C-Map charts are now on my phone which allows me to navigate using that, it will also repeat what is on the Go9 screen to the phone via wifi, not 100% with the Simrad yet I find it a bit clunky to use and Navionics is easier to lay in a course/route to follow along the canals where the Simrad "assumes" you are on the open sea and tries to steer you directly to your destination.

I use Blue Stacks Android emulator on the PC and the Navionics Boating app runs fine on that, not updated it to the new version yet though
