Has anyone tried this app on an android tablet?
I recently got an Advent Vega 10" tablet with the specific notion of running this App on it. It installs fine but was a little flaky till the 5.1 update when it wouldn't run at all. The workaround was to run something called fake location or a Bluetooth GPS with GPS provider. This got it running but I cannot get the user generated content to show .
The Vega has not got 3g (yet) it uses wifi only. However if I put my Android phone in airplane mode and use wifi only The UGC layer shows up. So I don't see that is the problem.
Has anyone got it running properly on say the Samsung Galaxy tab? or any other Android Tablet?
If I can get it fully running it is a very cheap 10" plotter!

I have it running on a Dell Streak 5" which is a small tablet or large phone, depending on which you think sounds more impressive. That's still on Android 1.6.

The fact that it's a tablet shouldn't make any difference - it'll be down to either the Android implementation and/or the fact that it can't see a data connection.

If you contact navionics, they are fairly quick about replying and helping. The new version officially supports galaxy tabs so it could be a limitation of the advent hardware, of which there may be a root app workaround, as you have suggested.

Thanks for the input I have mailed Navionics as suggested and we'll see what they say.
