Charging a tablet from a 12 volt socket.

Thanks all but unfortunately I don't think it is quite so simple. I have plenty of 12v adaptors that will continuously charge my Samsung tablet via a USB C cable so the adaptor is not the problem.

It appears though that my old, new to me, 8" Samsung tablet with the USB Micro slot is looking for a Samsung (or equivalent) wall charger. If it sees one it charges easily fast enough to keep up with the drain. If it doesn't see a wall charger though and only sees a 12v adaptors it only charges at 0.5 amp, not enough to keep up with the drain.

So I'll repeat my original question. I'm looking for a small (7" or 8") tablet that you know will run continuously from a 12 volt socket. Basically it must charge faster than it drains so it is always fully charged. Any ideas?

Thanks all.
I'm not sure it's as simple as that.

I run an old Samsung Galaxy Active 8". On a few hours sail the battery lasts. On a longer trip of 6+ hours I need to recharge, even setting it to power off after 10-15 mins. It reactivates with a touch. If the sun is bright and the screen is at full strength then the battery lasts far less than if the light is low or it's set to low brightness. I plan charging if needed around navigational excitement and arrival time.

My point is that it's not just the charge rate but how fast you use the charge.

Before anyone asks I have a separate tablet with UKHO charts and a fixed Raymarine plotter.

I'm a believer (rightly/wrongly) that a mismatched charger is the possible cause of fires with these devices, I will only use a charger..eg.Samsung/Samsung
I killed an expensive MacBook by powering it through a cheap USB-C hub. I will only ever use name-brand USB chargers now - e.g. Belkin, which (last time I checked) come with a "won't kill your hardware warranty"

I had an old Samsung tablet, about 2014, which liked a wall socket, but it was happy enough to run Navionics 24hr, as long as the usb was rated 2.1 amps or more. I now run a new 10" Samsung on a usbc, 3A, with no problems

Thanks all.

I have now purchased an 8" Lenovo Tab M8 which comes with a USB C connector. It runs fine off my usual 12 volt USB outlet exactly the same as the old Huawei used to.

Result! Indonesia here we come.
