It’s a pity about the shag-pile sitting under the surface…

Our canal has had a low bridge restriction while it was getting painted so there has been no traffic and the weed has taken over, water lilies are almost choking the canal now.
Here on Canal du Midi they have been cutting the grass on the banks and it falls in the water. Important to check water intakes every day. Got some heavy weed round prop yesterday but one advantages of the stern drives it you can tilt them up and get at them with knife on a stick.

It was a big problem with our last boat, forward 100m back 50m to get the weed off the saildrive, this boat it is not so bad but you do feel it, the lack of traffic has allowed the weed to really grow.
Bridge is open again they have finished painting the underside of it and removed the scaffolding so we have the full 5.3m clearance, was due to continue into July but they concentrated on doing the underside and got that bit finished early.

When we approach the bridge we have to sound the horn so the painters will take care not to drop anything on your boat...... :)

Is something broken on the forum, can't seem to post pics and the toolbar isn't showing properly?
So you'll have to imagine a picture me drinking a nice glass of rosé in front of the pink town hall in Toulouse ( hence ville rose).
End of our month of cruising, my guest goes home tomorrow and I go back to French home Wednesday and home to UK Thursday. 35 degrees here, a chilly 23 in Norfolk

You plug the mains electrics in whilst at anchor. Do they have floating electrical 'points' in the bay or is it a long extension lead.

Was going to add an emoji but they have presently disappeared.
No emoji !
So…this is serious, heartfelt criticism of the meanest sort😡
The cable is just lying on the cockpit deck…. I never unplug that end…should I ?
