If a wife is considered crew…and a dog, livestock…. Then it’s my everyday experience
It's funny, my friend who is travelling with me said only last night that she felt she was a passenger for the first couple of weeks but has felt more like a member of the crew now.
Leaving on Monday but would like to come back next year if I am doing some more canal cruising ( she didn't enjoy the lumpy stuff out at sea but it was rather windy) .

It’s a difficult one…sometimes you want the passenger to stay a passenger…rather than have to keep a permanent eye on them while they try to be useful

It’s a pity about the shag-pile sitting under the surface…

Our canal has had a low bridge restriction while it was getting painted so there has been no traffic and the weed has taken over, water lilies are almost choking the canal now.
In Africa I’ve seen hippos come out the water with water lilies on their heads
