23rd until this evening. A nice view and silence for three days, except for the wind in the nearby trees and a Vixen calling after sunset. Didn't really need the tent stove as temperatures were well above freezing, but the 24th was heavy sea mist most of the day, so the stove was welcome.
Left out of photo at a few thousand miles away lays Amerikay.

Damp outside but there's a brew on..

Scran for the 25th. In spite of what it looks like..it isn't..It's chilli Con Carne and was welcome after a day wandering in the surrounding woodland. (y)

Back in the World now..briefly.

I'm not going to post my view. Its the inside of a Raddison hotel room after Easyjet cancelled the Hamburg Manchester flight late last night. How did they inform us? A text saying Manchester Flight cancelled along with the message "All hotels full due to exceptional demand. Passengers should make their own arrangements. Replacement flights should be booked online" Guess what, the website keeps crashing for us.
Finally got on to book next flight and its Tuesday, all other seats full. Not an Easyjet representative in site in the airport last night or this morning.
I know its a no frills airline and fly with them regularly but surely they have some responsibility beyond this.
Old people (older than me) wandering around aimlessly not knowing what to do, unable to access the booking because it was booked by more tech savvy sons/daughters. We managed to help a few of them and got them over to the hotel (yes there were lots of rooms) and explained the situation to them. Got them booked in. Helped a couple book new flights for later this week, but still lots of confusion and no communication from the company other than that text last night.
Rant over, sorry don't mean to derail the thread, but Grrrrrrh! Makes me so angry.

That's going to cost easy jet a lot of money or are they saying cancellation out of their control ?

Not actually said anything yet. Just the text last night that said cancelled and book your own hotel. I suspect they may pull the bad weather clause out of the bag and use that one, which they say in the t and c that they dont pay out on. Were back up in Kiel now with the family for a few extra days so we're ok but there's lots who dont have that option.

Many uk flights have been cancelled due to thick fog. Its affecting thousands. Hope you get sorted.
