There's a nice bit of irony in Irish pubs serving English Breakfast.

Seeing as Saint Patrick was English.

This little known facts causes a lot of annoyance in the USA when you point it out.
Of course the Angles (who gave the name English) were immigrants from what is now Germany, and drove out the Britons to places like Wales. And the Scots actually came from Hibernia which is now Ireland.

He would have identified as a Roman, not as English. He was quite literally stolen by the Irish.

We have seen the boat and you should be hoovering.
Believe me I did clean….and it wasn’t easy because their visit coincided with the my dog’s osteopath…so I was cleaning the house and boat at the same time…an exhausting few days
