Actually, I didn't read it in depth, so I hope I'm right. But that's what JumbleDuck is doing right now - while I earn a living...
It's about time the forum police closed down this thread. Its degenerated into rudeness and insults which is a country mile away from the reader to reader helpful advice which I for one have benefited over the years. Shame on you! (you know who you (plural) are).
the thread has clearly run it's course and is detracting from what is an otherwise extremely useful internet resource.

The thread was started as part of a digital marketing strategy, delivering us to advertisers in exchange for valuables. That strategy is as open for discussion as the boat and the launch. As I have written before, I am sure that if Eleanor were to give us an update and, with luck, good news, she would be warmly received.
But otherwise, to requote Bret Easton Ellis
And when someone is criticised for their content, they seem to collapse, or the person criticising them is called a hater, a contrarian, a troll.
Well said. It now has nothing at all to do with boats and seems to be the preserve of a few keyboard warriors who have little else to do than reflect on how brilliant life was in the good old days and how terrible anyone under 40 seems to be. I've been really resisting the urge to post, in the hope that the thread might just die, but no, the same Victor Meldrew types just seem to be perpetuating this thread with oh so highly amusing "bumps".
Mods, please, just kill this thread. Or move it to the lounge as that is a far better place for people to rant away leaving the rest of us to talk about boats, the purpose of this sub-forum. As things stand the thread has clearly run it's course and is detracting from what is an otherwise extremely useful internet resource.
Clearly Elizmor isn't going to be launched anytime soon, Ellie won't be back anytime soon, people who did have an interest in the boat now can't be bothered to wade through pages of Meldrew-isms, so can we please just get rid. And in the meantime, have some "digital messaging" of your own.

tricked into believing that a thread which masqueraded as being about a wonderful old boat, was in reality only about marketing and profit.
Yes, because boating magazines aren't about marketing and profit, are they...?!

I've had a quick look and can't see anything there to say that residential use doesn't need planning permission. Perhaps I've missed it, of course, but there was a lot of discussion about residential moorings on canals on the Liveaboard forum which suggested that PP is necessary there.
I would be fascinated to see if anyone has ever established any residential rights for a houseboat in a marina, yet alone in a boatyard.3. Houseboats are dodgy for marinas as they can create residential "rights" for the occupier. I'll take a bet that the OP has been asked to stop using the vessel as a houseboat ...as any sane marina would do when the winds of litigation start to blow.
