When you read that and how quickly, and aggressively, she was sussed you have to laugh at some of the 'don't be horrible to JE' comments made on here.

She certainly has guts. First she states that she is going to circumvent their rules, then she makes her pitch, then she says 'ooh, I am so sorry if I have broken the rules.........' Very cute. But not cute enough to fool the, even more, internet savvy.

Edit: oh, before any of the defenders come on threatening retribution, please go to that link and read ALL the comments.
And as it turns out, my post wasnt that bad after all! Indeed some of the others said exactly what I said in a different way!
Funny old world innit?

Your post was perhaps a little ... firmly worded, but it didn't seem implausible or, on the basis of other available evidence, inaccurate.
My fear is that it is a bit more serious than peeps think.
A youngster, so the internet is all, yet for the past few weeks not a sign on the internet! nothing, nada, not a trace!

No discernible Facebook presence whatsoever (yeah, yeah, I had a look) - that's most peculiar. Didn't Elizmor have a Facebook page at one point? I smell lawyers.

She had a few FB pages and Twitted accounts...now all dead.

The Twitter accounts @elizmor (last post 16/1/14), @jellyellie (14/6/13) and @yachtmilestone (4/4/13) all exist but don't seem very active. It seems odd to me that a digital marketing specialist wouldn't be active on Twitter, but what would I know?

Well she is obviously looking to the future on her personal Twitter account!

Hi all,

The previous thread regarding Elizmor was locked because we received numerous complaints from users who felt the thread had become abusive.

While we welcome lively debate on the forum, we try to uphold a pleasant atmosphere for all users. The thread had become quite personal and we felt locking it would be better than suspending it.

If we do lock a thread it's for a good reason and will have been decided by the moderation team. Please don't start a new thread discussing the same issue, as we usually have to pull them as well.

Apologies for the delay in explaining the reasoning behind this thread being locked, it's been a pretty hectic few weeks for us.

Kind regards,

Isobel

This is an entertaining thread. Surely those that don't like it can choose not to read it?

Hi Isobel,

"Numerous complaints"? About the thread(s) in general or about people in particular? I could understand the latter but surely that would be a matter of 'discussing' the issues with those involved.

What is the difference between locking and suspending?

Just trying to learn how the moderation team work :).

Fair question; my guess is that ybw simply wants to clarify that it welcomes "lively debate", but frowns on threads which "become abusive". I imagine these terms are quite hard to precisely define; indeed a famous US Supreme Court judge once commented, "It is hard to define pornography, but I know it when I see it!"

We can apply the same principle here; e.g. here is a nice clean example of abuse:

""14 A DAY! OMFG Get a life ffs. I see that for some this forum is their life. And they tend to be the most bitter and aggressive.""

I think Ellie is conducting an experiment to see if its possible to let an online presence die and how long it takes. We're all just lab rats in her test.
