From the locked thread:

"On the request of the OP, this thread is being locked."

That looks good, start a thread, don't like the way it's going, get it locked... That'll save a lot of arguments

Errr, no, this thread is about the "My new project... MFV Elizmor" thread, which has been locked without explanation. The quote you've given was on the "Elizmor news" thread which was also locked. Started by Graham Wright, who was presumably unhappy with the responses he got. It's intriguing that people can start threads, not be happy with the results, and then ask for them to be locked. Anyway, it's all confusing, but do try to keep up.

When you read that and how quickly, and aggressively, she was sussed you have to laugh at some of the 'don't be horrible to JE' comments made on here.

She certainly has guts. First she states that she is going to circumvent their rules, then she makes her pitch, then she says 'ooh, I am so sorry if I have broken the rules.........' Very cute. But not cute enough to fool the, even more, internet savvy.

Edit: oh, before any of the defenders come on threatening retribution, please go to that link and read ALL the comments.

She tried to pull that scam 6 years ago and was busted, she's tried the same thing here with the help of Graham Wright and still people have her corner??? A fool and their money are easily parted........:ambivalence:

Well put, but a blanket denial of unwarranted unpleasantness ignores quite a few posters, myself included, who simply do not need to use such technique to ' argue' a point .
As I wrote earlier, a posters tone says more about them than the recipient, just as with dodgy school reports. And then there is the repetition of same, with a lorra personal slant, day in, day out.
Specific examples? I have queried three posters -who have ducked on addressing the angry tone of their ' contribution' ..
It would now take days to go back post by post, so you are probably safe in saying "oh yeah, prove it"

And of course, at the end of the day it is not my problem but it does leave an unpleasant taste

I am as tough and robust a -proven -sailor as most on here, but my goodness I am glad I didn't start telling the forum about any new boat of mine!

Well, enuff from me. Play amongst yourselves, I'm off and have managed to waste far too long on this one stalled event already!

So you queried 3 posters ŵho have ducked on addressing the anger tone of their 'contribution' ....Err why do you think you are worthy of a response ? They obviously don't .

Oh, OK. Cutting holes in Centaurs I could not agree with, but you often talk sense mate. Keep it up, us lesser forumites need a little rational input from time to time.

gotta sell this Centaur to recoup my investment

but Our Wellie I could of kept - so...... who knows.... the project might return to discombobulate you one day if I fall in love with Centaurs

Yes - I stated "From the locked thread" in response to a post about Graham and not Ellie's original thread, do read what is posted before making a comment or you will remain confused...

No, you quoted the OP from lakesailor (which was only concerned with the original JS thread - look at lakesailors thread title) and responded to it:

'From the locked thread:

The 'locked thread' to which this refers, was the thread from Graham - not the original thread form JE, for which no explanation for locking has been given.

Rats. Now the original thread has been pulled (and I agree with all Dylan had to say about that) I will have to try talking to the missus again:)
What? Is this the Sisterhood closing ranks?

Ah. No. I see. You refer to it being locked. I blame Full Circle. His post was obviously the straw that broke the camel's back.

I don't really think you know what I meant better than I do, do you? I may not have made it as clear as I could have but you have misunderstood it.

The best news, on which no-one has - I think - commented, is that the OP is still around. Hopefully she will find some way of launching and then enjoying her boat.

Rats. Now the original thread has been pulled ...

Point of information: The original thread, started by Eleanor, has not been pulled. It's still there, although locked. We don't yet know why it has been locked. We do know that the thread by the chap who had been to Preston Marina to make enquiries about her has been locked at his request.

Er, where is it then? This is getting very confusing. Might do some secondary port calcs and sight reductions for light relief!

Not that anyone cares but I sold my gaffer yesterday :). And tonight I am buying a CW28 ketch. Exciting:)

[pedant] Actually, you are rather confused, because your "From the locked thread" comment was in response to Lakey's post about the original thread. [/pedant]
