Has anyone here had any experience in anchoring off Mousehole, between the village and St Clement's Isle?

What is it like?

Very pleasant if the wind is not from the West (swell). I was there last year when the wind was from the SE and it was wonderful. Nice little harbour to take the dinghy in when going ashore.

Ummm. Potty reply imho.

Mousehole is protected from the W and open to the south and east. Swell of course can be from pretty much any direction for a short while after a wind change but mostly it's from the W or SW.

Quite right! .......I was thinking of Mullion Cove! Mousehole is a pretty little place from shore but I would never go near it from the sea.

Anchored at Mousehole almost twice in the last month. First time was settled but anchor retrieval suggested nothing but kelp was holding us.
Last Sunday, 20knts NW, tried to set 4 times and failed so retreated to Gwavas Lake.
There are also quite a few pot markers which restrict anchoring options.
