I think you mean Yanmar.
I do that kind of thing too.

Yamaha made their first marine diesel engine in 1979. MD-5Y. A 14hp single.
Yamaha designed and manufactured engines for ford around 1988.
They also make large inboard diesels with yamaha hydra drive.
Yamaha even made/ make yachts so its totally possible that boat could have a yamaha inboard.

Yamaha also make/made GRP inshore fishing boats, often sold as packages with a 9.9 hp petrol parafin outboard.
