As an aside, interesting to know the origin of Lentune as many years ago I admired a 12 ton Gauntlet called Lentune. Now appreciate why it had that name being designed and built at Berthons. Mind you the gloss went off a bit when I saw the owner struggling with broken frames in the canoe stern. Seem to remember he sold it and bought a lovely Dickies built all teak motor sailor with a Gardner 3LW. Boat was called Turag and is still around, but not seen anything on Lentune for 30 idd years.
Turag rings a bell as belonging to longtime commodore of CCC in th 50snamed Kennedy FWITW

No. The "trap" is further south and in the deep water. It is a "hole" in the seabed that moves around and causes disturbed water particularly with strong tidal flows.

My memory of The Trap was that it was a gravel bank that boats got trapped on when they cut in too close trying to avoid the ebb in the North Channel. When the tide turned it became difficult to get off and there were boats broken up in bad conditions. Think I’ve got an old article about it somewhere. The hole was just outside The Trap…
