Just out of interest, don't intend going until retirement!, anyone know how much it is to berth in Monaco normally and what they would charge this weekend?

It's an all week ticket to be on the front row for 50 to 60 foot and got quoted £18000 for the whole week!

If you consider what a hotel and race tickets might cost for 6 to 8 plus persons in Monaco for the week of the Grand Prix, then £18k to moor a 60ft boat for the same week full of friends and family starts to look a bit of a bargain on a per head basis (even without using the man maths calculator)
Probably not something you would do more than once but what a great experience.

We did the cheaper option.
Cost us 2500 euros for a 25m berth in Valencia.
Very different to Monaco.
No electricity and had to use the dinghy to get out on the town.

OTOH, the racing was fantastic - the boat was (literally) just feet from the track.
I rigged up two satellite TV feeds onto the boats flybridge navigation displays and "piped" the sound throughout the boat.
One satellite feed showed the F1 commentary - the other showed the "driver tracker".
So, not only did we have our own seats right beside the track but we also knew exactly what was happening all around the track.
It was also very hot - 42 degrees track temp but, of course, there were plenty of cool beers in the fridge.
A truly magical experience.
Unfortunately, one we won't be able to repeat now that Valencia has been dumped from the circuit.

That was four years ago - later, I made a video that I don't think ever been shown on here.
Please excuse the poor quality of the production but it does bring back memories for all of us.

It is video clips like this that I hope will bring back memories when we are much older and reminiscing in our wheelchairs.
Videos and photos that will remind us of the fantastic times we have had.

I hope you enjoy the clip.

18 grand sounds a lot but decent grandstand tickets are over £500 and if you throw in a few bottles of bubbly and some nibbles presumably you could charge a few grand a ticket, provided you actually have a view of the track.

Been 5 times , you don,t actually see much on a boat (2x Tabac corner+ Oppersite swimming pool ) .-more on Tv -even at the edge of the track!
See more in a seat swimming pool area ,or better still the "ramparts " where you see the whole harbour , Rasscass and up the pit lane ,and start / fin line .Ramparts not silly money €70-90 for the day .
It can get claustrophobic .

Last two hired a skipper to take us in -drop off /collect on race day .

Then it's a boat race to watch a car race ,followed by another boat race back .
That way you can participate in two of the above :)-saw 39 knots once on the way back skipper trimmed it perfectly .You know what it's like lads red mist decends -no 8uggers going to get past me:)

How ever that said each to there own -many ways to skin "Monaco " cat
For real Petrol Heads I hear the earlier "Historic GP " is a better event -will do it soon .

We did the historic GP a few years ago and it was great. Far less crowded, hospitality more affordable and some great sights, sounds and smells. Ended up popping round the track between races courtesy of a Spyker !

Henry :)

It was at TABAC corner and had same thoughts if I can get 20 people on a 60 footer to watch it then £500 a head including drinks then its £10k to go towards it!
I was also told you can get some corporate parties the days before and should cover the other half and they supply there own drinks!
I am 2 years away at least I think but might try for it in 2018-19?

E3500 each on a superyacht. Look how many they cram on. I guess a superyacht's a bit more than £18k though.

That's the boat right on the corner with the 3marshals infront did that 2x -see knack all too close .
Cost £3K for a couple in 3 nights in a 4* hotel in Cannes , limo ride in /out for qually + race day + ( lobster + fiz lunch free booze all day ) - access to "stars n bars " party after race -about 50 others to share on board

What you need is to work for a company with an office and huge balcony overlooking the corner of the hill ....... Then spend all of Sunday at a BBQ in West Sussex ..... Still at least the sun was out !
