Moderately good idea for \"outies\"

I took the paddlewhel log out of the boat whislt it was on hard standing. From a little test using the smoke from a cigarette, it was clear that the colder/damper air in the bottom of the boat rushed out through this hole for quite some time.

or perhaps this is a standard thing to do, dunno?

Did you try tipping the boat up a bit so it completely emptied of air? Another problem may be the syponing of cold air from the upper atmosphere through the craft causing local climatic anomalies.

I would be concerned that if the air rushes out too fast if may from a vortex under your boat that could eventually grow into a tornado so large that it sucks your boat and all surrounding craft in never to be seen again, it really can happen, I'm sure I saw it on the telly!!!

It's actually the warmer air higher up that holds more moisture. If you let out the colder drier air the relative humidity in the cabin will increase until small clouds form under the deckhead. If allowed to continue, it will rain inside your boat and soak your upholstery etc. Still at least there's a hole in the bottom to let all the water out. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

I trust...

...that you are aware of the potential climatic changes that you could be bringing on the microcosm beneath your boat? You have I hope seen the film 'The day after tomorrow'??
