Morning all, I have just completed the purchase of my first boat. I have also renamed the boat and that has been confirmed via the small ships registrar, and the new certificate.
However I am a little confused as to the process with regards the MMSI number.

How do I update the MMSI details of the boat, with the boats new name and owner details.
I know the MMSI number and call sign remain the same, just want some clarification.

Thanks

Nick

Start here;

Ships' radio and ship portable radio

Did your boat come with an EPRIB? Just a guess, but those details probably also need updating?

Start here:- ofcomm if you know your Callsign as well as your MMSI number. You need to get the ships licence reassigned to you from the previous owner.

If you don't know your call sign you can search for it here :- mars

Once you done that you can register with the RYA please see the following about the old CG66 information:- mcga, you might want to get it deleted.

An EPIRB should be on list of equipment registered to the ship so shouldn't need updating if I remember correctly. I can't remember if PLBs are added to the ship as well.
