Med Winter Liveaboard Suggestions Please

You may recall, I asked FAT for a country specific forums.
At the time I suggested The Solent might like its own sub-forum.
I was roundly shot down here, by folk who never venture out of UK Waters and FAT never replied.
This was just after the 2016 Referendum so now could be a good time for another push?

Ask again, they can only say no, or not reply again :)

As Vic says, there's much confusion as situations varies wildly between different countries. Even when a specific question is asked, people get multiple contradictory answers from folk based in different places.

You are changing the sense if my words and personalising it into Brits and the rest of the world.

if my posting sounded as if I was charging your words ,

I assure you it wasn't meant to,
My point was
I in general never ever felt that any other state official member had treated me different because I'm brits , if there was being a ass to me they where also being a ass to the Italian or French guy next to me .
I don't expect that to change because we left the EU ,

Next bit don't apply to you or anyone in particular

It seen but what some have said that now we left the EU we all be out cast ,
official will be demanding all sorts of documents, given us a hard time,
I think there are dreaming just because their unsure how to deal with what to come and are stress others out.
I belive we be treated no different to any other non EU cruisers,

Taken one step back,
the rules are and will be the same as they where last year and the years before For non EU boats and people.
UK leaving the EU haven't change them rules one little bit .
And because tho rules haven't been change what some got away with then will still be able to get away with gain .
Most know the official rules

Remember it was only a few months back when people where say get your residency before the end of the year or it be much harder once we left,
Well its no harder now in some countries then it was before we left.

Come 1st of April i would expect the situation to become clearer when non resident's become over stayers of the 90/180

I and ever other brits in this marina are overstays already , non of us have our passport stamp or got any intention of getting them stamp.
reading cruisers forum not may have got stamps and the once who have are now worried what going to happen three months down the line, I guess they will have to get out.

The 90 days are only counted from January 1st. No brit anywhere in Schengen is illegal until end of March.
You correct but once in the EU you suppose to have a stamp to say your in the EU .
if not we could all go on the 1st March get stamp in and get another 90 days which mean we had 180 days counting back from the 1st Jan.
Do you agree?
So in reality everyone without a stamp is illegal.
And there many in this situation at the moment.

Some of those with stamps will be seen as illegal as well. Contrary to EU rules, France (and maybe other countries) are insisting on stamping UK citizens with EU residence passports so they will be entered in Schengen database. Will be interesting to see what happens months later when they leave.

Hi Vic, Think we are in different conversations.

I am commenting on relationships between different nationalities, you are covering possible attitudes of foreign national towards Brits post Brexit.

As to getting residency post 1/1/21? I have yet to hear how anybody has got on. Possibly a bit too early.

I've not paid much attention to it since it does not affect us but i though the general idea was that when entering Schengen after new year your passport would be stamped/scanned and anyone leaving from April without proof of entering this year would receive extra scrutiny either when leaving or when entering Schengen in the future.

Oh well that's me done for

I have just got my French Residency - Went to have my fingerprints copied last week and the Carte de Sejour arrives in a few weeks the nice lady told me at the prefecture.
Interestingly I am still only allowed 90/180 in the rest of Europe but a French government official stated when asked what French residents like me should do on driving across the border into a neighbouring EU country - eg Spain - He said ' we expect all British residents in France to behave honourably and respect the rules as they would not be stamping our passports..... Interesting

Did you start your residency procedure before 1/1/21, when you were still a EU Citizen ❓ As a UK resident in France, when entering or leaving France, your passport should not be stamped. As to behaving honourably, when up and running, I suspect the ETIAS will identify those who don't.

The French run/ran a special web site for Brits who were in France before 31/12/20 and I applied via that - as I had just moved to France.. As for ETIAS it only works for air and ferry travel - that is the problem the French and others have with Brits with residency in an EU country - we just get in our cars and drive... pre covid I was driving regularly between France and Spain and as you know even today there are no border controls at the road frontiers -

Just don't take your phone with you if planning to go for over 90/180 to elsewhere in Europe. Your phone is way better at tracking where you've been than any Etias ever will be.
Might be a bit harder once you've been injected with the 5G tracker nanobot in the vaccine, however.

That sounds like paranoia :) I think someone would have to be in very serious trouble before any attempt could be made to apply to track phone data, not something roadside plod could do.
