MDL have sent me a questionnaire, and within the questionaire they set a prize question

How many boatyards do MDL operate ? 1) 11) 21)

If you look on there web site " the reason for the question I think," it say's 18

So now Im stuck always one to try and get somthing for nowt is it 11 and forget the other 7 or is it 18, but to sound bigger they put 21, or is it a trick oqestion and the answer is 18.

Also would MDL let me ( if I won ) save the prize for a season as a free summer scrub is no good as Iv just painted Zinfandels bottom.

I had the same questionaire and couldn't decide if boatyards also means marina. You could always try ticking all three boxes- it doesn't mention negative marking anywhere. I was also under the impression that MDL didn't need feedback because they have such a captive audience!

Re: the corect answer

well, i think the correct answer is 1 , cos all the others just have people mooching about and a load of busted boats on stilts, hence they have likely fired almost all the staff and the competition is actually an indirect mass sacking notice cos they daren't tellem. maybe.

oh, how horrid. MDL are the very nice marina people who sponsored the mercury meeting this year and last. So, not very good hereabouts to say anything untoward, otherwise erm ...they might chuck us all out.

Re: the corect answer

One of the busted boats is mine .. and we're now in a long queue to get shifted cos of their wonderful summer scrub offer .. supposedly cos they're so quiet in the summer ..

I expect to find my boat scuttled when I go down this evening! On balance, it's great having a berth, but things are a a bit limited in this area. Dartside Quay were brilliant this winter- it's a shame the access is so limited by tide.

OK I'll tick all three.... or could it be 21????????????????
Zinfandel was at Dartside this winter and the service was 'nice' but still a bit
expensive side, as there are little in the way of facilities (no showers) and being new to winter storage when I left the boat asking for 1 April don’t know you have to confirm the date. So pay for another 3 weeks :-( .

So a free summer scub NEXT year would be nice

Peter,

Glad to see you are taking our competition so seriously. Nothing beats a bit of determination. You’re quite right in that we don’t have 21 sites, so I guess that leaves you with just two choices.

Now on ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ you are allowed to ‘phone a friend’. Using the YBW Forum on this occasion is probably acceptable as long as you only choose one response…

As for a scrub next year, no problem, but be we reserve the right to make a nominal charge if the weed is hanging down below the bottom of the keel.

Good luck with your entry!

Jon

Re: eek!

They're in the process of implementing " The Thought Police"- empty your mind now. I must say, MDL has allowed us to sail with ease this year having found us a marina berth just after our baby was born- so Sorry MDL- I'm only joking when I say bad things. No more dinghy full of wet dog and baby in car seat.

Re: eek!

John,

Well done! You win the top prize of a weekend for two in Thailand via a tour operator of your choice.

Let me know where to send the tickets....

The answer is on the website, if you study the question and spend a couple of minutes looking for it...
