I am trying to get a rough idea of marina charges in various places in the Med for a 56' power boat on a transit basis (generally 2-4 nights each.) Additionally, trying to get an idea of how difficult it is to find transit berths on an ad hoc basis as prebooking would seem to take some of the spontaniety out of our expected 6 month trip.
I am aware that charges and availability would vary depending on the marina and time of year and I expect this topic has been covered before. So,perhaps someone could just direct me to the relevant thread on this board (search option seemed to return too many hits and no relevant threads) or direct me to a resource that could assist.

easily the most comprehensive and up-to-date almanac is the one which is a legal requirement for french-flagged boats to carry - it is the Livre De Bord, costs 20 euros. Fraid to say this is much better updated than Mr Heikells almanacs, praps cos it is so much more wdely used.

Prices are high in summer, but half or less outside the premium June, July and August months. You need to book ahead by phone.

BUT note that on a 60 footer, in the med, in summer, you can anchor out most nights, and there are lots of good places - the wind almost always dies from 7pm and its is much less airles and sweaty (and cheap!) than in a marina. Lunch stops are free in most if not all marinas. So, not all bad news.
