"Fastest yacht in the world"
Maiden 11 holds the record for the longest distance covered in 24 hours, this "fastest yacht" phrase has been invented from somewhere but it doesn't mean Maiden is THE fastest yacht in the world, she is over a 24 hour period, but she'll have to be going some to beat 45+ knots!!
That belongs to Yellow Pages Endevour with a speed of 46.52 knots...She might not look like a yacht, but then again neither does Maiden 11, but she does fit into the definition of "a light sailing vessel"
I read another line the other day that refered to Ellen as "The fastest woman around the world" Can't remember where it came from but it did put a smile on my face

Yes; the news releases are becoming fatuous and insulting to sailors. The latter are not stupid and the PR firms should cool it.
