Chinese ship investigated over ‘sabotaged’ Baltic Sea internet cables

We should avoid any discussion of current affairs and the wider situation but in terms of the specific boating related outcomes:

- Does the Captain end up in criminal court here?

- It seems to me to be an act of war, so presumably the insurers won't be paying anything?

Looking at the AIS track of the ship (can't remember where I saw it), were I in the jury, I'd take a lot of convincing that it wasn't a deliberate act.
