I have a Simpson Lawrence manual windlass from approx 1960. I am replacing it with an electric one and as much as I like it for its authenticity, I'm looking for a home for it. I don't see eBay or similar being a good place to sell it and I don't think I'll get much/anything for it. So - I will give it to anyone who has a home for it (i.e, not for them to sell on!). It comes with a 3/8" gypsy and if there's any interest I'll post a photo of it. Can't do it now as I'm on the wrong computer.
I've also got 30ish metres of uncalibrated 3/8" chain with a shackle join after 10m (obvisouly depends which end you're counting from!). Also free to a good home. Again, not worth selling as it's a bit worn, is uncalibrated and has that join in it.
It's all in Central Scotland - I can probably deliver if it's not too far from Glasgow/Argyll.
Hope this posting is ok for the Classic Forum - I'm not selling it, so I thought it probably would be.
