Liveaboad in southern Italy - Naples region

Re: Naples & Salerno

where? dont you have the bora there??and lots of Germany in mobos???and need a navigation permit that cost $1000?? or has it changed?

Oh and procida is very expensive and always has been, thats not Naples well it is but it isent if you se what i meen.
I meen those disgusting bays with small "harbours" like a shanty town where the poor leave there boats next to the industary that pumps its effluent into the sea (still) where you walk through rusting ruins and accross a rail track to get to "town"
That bit i ment--good cafes though and exellent wine lunch for 5 euros and sleep over a reiforced cafe afterwardes 1euro then about 4.00 take the train site seeing and shopping in Naples itself!!
reterning dirty hot tierd to eat an evening dish of pasta salad and fish with more exelent white wine,8 euros plus wine, write cards and emails transfer my photos and back to the boat and sleep for 10pm!!!

Neapolitans..

smartest people ever existed

1.when car safety belts became complusory, the following day you could buy at every street corners white tshirts with a printed diagonal black band...
1a. tshirts were available also with the black band going from the right shoulder to the left hip, in case one had any passengers
2.during WWII, an entire American auxiliary ship was stolen and dismantled in one night, the various pieces were available at local markets the following day
3.despite chaotic traffic similar to delhi or cairo, the number of traffic casualties is among the lowest in italy, anarchy but respect maybe
4.you can buy a valid telephone card for 5euro, but it will have a 10euro credit in it

not to mention the best selling sticker: the purple spot for bald people sold the day after Gorbatchev was elected

Re: Naples & Salerno

Well.... we have a leeetle bora it's true... but it's no worse than the mistral (or at least, it produces less waves as there's less fetch). As for the Germans, yes and no, in that they're Austrian! And mobos? Definitely not: there are far more Italian mobos than German, but moboing is a Venetian thing rather than Triestine; we're all raggies here! Which means that round here, you'll see far more sailing boats than mobos. Navigation permit: yup, for Croatia, but it's not that expensive: about 200 euro I think for my boat (9.75m).
More to the point, we have excellent seafood and the local Coop even sells a good Muscadet to accompany it!
