Normally I'm a great fan of the Parkside range of tools. It's many years since I made a living as a journeyman and all my professional power tools have dies and been replaced at least once. All my Mains stuff has been excellent and the (very) old 18V Ni-Cad hammer drill has outlasted a pair of Ryobis and a B&D bought when I thought the Parkside Drill was feeling a bit tired. Recently though, I've had issues with the Li-ion range.
I bought the impact driver, the 20v drill and the multi tool. All have been trouble. The impact driver broke my screwdriver bits, every time i tried to use it; the 20v Drill had a very limited set of bits wit it but the chuck wouldn't accept plain shank drills and the multi-tool failed on it's fist ever use. Lidl have a 28-day money back, no questions policy which worked for the drill and the multi-tool, but I had left the impact driver in the shed for nearly five weeks before trying it and discovering it's appetite for bits. I've now spent longer e-mailing and phoning and providing supplementary information than I spent using the tool. If you're buying Parkside, I recommend you give it a thorough work out within the first month, or you may find yourself in the same position as I.
