I took a quick, though not thorough, look around the GS45. Looks very pretty and had some stylish bits and pieces around. Not entirely sure about the slot for the base part of the wheel - good idea but easy to have something stuck there and jamb.
Saw the IP 485 too. Love this boat. Seems to be built like a SHD. Big savings currently (salesman mentioned 50K of free extras). Not so sure about the new IP42 though which seems built to a very tight budget, with some out of place cheap fittings - sort of ruining the whole idea of the IP.
No
But I put a marker on the Hallberg Rassy 37 - got all excited about it then they said I couldn't have one until Summer 2005. So stuff it - I'll stick with Claymore
The reason for me asking the question is that a friend of mine owns that particular boat and I have to deliver it from the Solent to the Medway in March.
I agree with the bit about the wheel hole and have mentioned it to the owner.
I beleive that GS are going to put covers over the scuppers.
It should make for a good afternoons entertainment trying to retrieve lost items that you can see but can't actually get at<s>.
One thing I do know is that if it sails anything like the GS 43 it will go like stink. On my last delivery trip (GS43) we averaged 9.3 knts with a top of 17.2 knts from the Solent to Ramsgate.
I will let you all know the outcome of the new boat?
It was pretty good but not a patch on the Feeling 44 lift-keel. The yacht completely held it's own against it's peers (Grand Soleil, Wauquiez etc) yet the example on display was over a season old! (and used lots) £230k fully kitted out with the lift-keel is a bargain!
