Help needed please on laying a mooring in Chichester harbour.
For a 26 foot sailing boat. The area dries out at low tide.
What size sinker or sinkers should I use?
Is normal cement used for sinkers or is a special marine cement available?
I think it might be easy to use three or four lighter sinkers in order transport them to the site. Any feedback welcome.

If you can do not use cement. It is relatively buoyant in water. Try to get hold of a train wheel or two, or an old engine block.

The size of the sinker as no relation with the harbour where you will sink it.. :0)

For a 26' sailing boat and Winds up to 45 knots, you can expect a force of about 600 daN (600 kg)

Then if your sinker is in steel it should weight about 700 kg or 1090 kg ( 0. 436 m3) in concrete.. (or four time 273 kg) - Normal cement is OK..

The plate of concrete should be as large as possible and as I suppose the bottom should be mud in Chichester harbour, you can increase the efficiency of the mooring by giving a concave shape at the lower part of the Concrete block. To do that, before pouring the concrete, make a convexe shape on the bottom, using some sand covered by a plastic film..
