Last outing

He's doing some work on it at the moment, he can't make it any wider. Concrete blocks all over the place apparently. Ridge is the next best one, don't like launching ito salt water if I can help it! Bit expensive tho @ 30 quid a time.

The work thing won't go away. Still I'll try to get it sorted, there's a slim chance.

hi barry, sorry to hear your mums not well, family's gotta come first mate. what do you think of launching at baiter?

if you wanted to, you could launch... find somewhere to store trailer/car... somewhere like a fire station would be good.... and i think baiter is a public one.... give me a bell if you're able to come and if you will need a hand launch. i'll PM my number, but i think you've already got it.

anyway, give girlies my regards, and see you soon, if not on the dec run ashore.

cheers mate, steve.

Come for a spin on mine if you can't launch. Know it's not the same, but better than missing out??

Launching isn't the prob, theres more slips round there than there is virgins in a convent. Its work, I've got some really shitty customers that tell you when your gonne be there!

So Barry - week later have things sorted themselves out for you to come ???

no pressure or anything but...

if Barry doesn't go then I have to seriously reconsider attending...
SHMBO is not happy/attending (family clash) so I am going to be alone (again) and in the (floating) doghouse - better known as a boat.

Re: no pressure or anything but...

I'm getting things sorted. Wifes off doing her own thing so I'll be on my own. Quiet happy about that, no one there to tell me its too cold its too wet etc. Probably be down friday mid morning/lunch time. Qucik trip upto wareham and a pint or two of 'that' beer. Then a trundle down to the Haven. Few extra jumpers and a pocket full of beer tokens, the boat..........bliss!

Anyone know what the weather will be doing, dont mind the cold. Hopefully we'll have a cold snap with frosty mornings. Sea will be like a mirror, cloudless skies, empty pubs and a full tank of juice.

Re: no pressure or anything but...

Gald to hear it Barry. Yep, if the conditions are as described, it will bliss!

Mind you I have to admit, I looked outside this morning, 2 deg.C cold drizzle, I said to my daughter, 'do we really want to go next week? I could cry off!' The answer came back 'YES WE DO WANT TO GO!'

Be down in Poole about 9:30 for launching.

Re: no pressure or anything but...

It'll be launched where it is kept at Poole Boat Park. That's on West Quay Road, about 10 mins walk from the Quay, right in the middle of Sunseeker Land.

Come along and watch if you like, bloomin great fork lifts get the boat from racks 20ft up in the air, and lower gently (!!???) into the water.

conditions

I was running around the harbour and out into Poole Bay Saturday and it was great to be out even if it was cold, wet and windy..........
I am confident that I will be there somehow...with boat and room for 7 more who have made the trip without boats.
Might need some diesel if we are running to Swanage a few times though

Re: conditions

Can someone summarise plans for Sat/Sun, I've lost track!

Not sure if boat will be ready, went to see it Friday. Engine out, floor had been removed and then reglassed in, after they had strengthened and relaminated interior and put in top hats. Were in process of grinding and rubbing off crazed areas outside. Gelcoat had arrived from manufacturers, and new carpets due from US on Monday.

So, bit of a gamble if already in time. If it does all come together I'll bring it directly from Northney marina, on Chichester side of Hayling Island, out of Chichester, to Poole (or wherever everyone is at the time), then back to Lymington. Then the problem of getting back from Lymington to Northney to pick up car!

Re: conditions

Summarise? Well it's all in here somewhere.

As I see it, we're meeting at Poole Dolphin Haven about 11:00 on Saturday. We'll have a run to Swanage if weather Ok, we're not all as weather proof as Duncan. Have some lunch/booze in Swanage, then back to Poole to do something in the evening.

A number of us will have cars at poole, so getting you back to Northney shouldn't be a problem

Last outing???? I've been waiting for cooler weather to make my first outing for several months. During the day it's now in the balmy 70sF,(aksherly it was 82 today) but I had a shock the other morning when our heating came on for a few minutes.
I have good weather, but I also have to put up with Eye-rak this and Eye-rak that every time I turn on the TV. It's as if the news media are trying to rouse everyone to war. It's sick.

Re: conditions

Hmmm, what is it 100 nm, at 7 knots, 15hrs, yeh, should make it!
