Chap at work came back to England on the ferry and said there were large orange buoys most of the way.

Is there a route marked out for them? Don't they have GPS ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If thats true, its scary! You can imagine the ferry company has this bright idea of hiring an Estonian skipper for £2.50 (and a bottle of vodka) an hour, with little or no qualifications...

"Never mind all that Istvan - its like an expensive game of dot-to-dot. Just follow the orange buoys home..."

sounds a marvellous plan - you pay someone to drop colour-coded buoys on yr intended passage, then just follow them - would certainly save all these " 1st time channel crossing - Help" posts. Also helps with playing I-Spy on those offshore routes.
