Can anyone put me in contact with asupplier of lanolin?An excellent grease for marine use eg to prevent galvanised shackles from seizing.

Any Chemist - known as Woolfat and also anhydrous lanolin - you may need to get them to order it. Great stuff - try it on your propellor

just bought 500g for £11 from my chemist. The maunfacturer/colletor/sheepshearer is JM Loveridge Plc, Southbrook Rd, Southampton, SO15 1BH

I tried several local chemists who advised it is no longer even listed in their book - but I did ask for Anhydrous Lanolin not Woolfat BP. eventually got it on the internet from someone who suggested it on this forum about 2 weeks ago. Sorry can't remember the name. Try a search on Lanolin.
I'm testing it on my prop this year.

Got mine from local chemist, had to order it, took three days to arrive.
Asked for Anhydrous Lanoln they knew exactly what I wanted, " That made them one up on me "
Like Dickh, also testing it on the propeller this year.

I got some from Boots the Chemist, good stuff, But do not put it on wire rigging, I did, thinking it would give protection over the winter, left the wire very sticky and was a hell of a job to get of.

Wouldn't ordinary grease be a lot cheaper. Boots' sell 110 gms for a few quid. You'd get a large tin for that.

When at school in thge 60's, I used to race dinghies throughout the winter. No wet suits in those days. Chapped hands with broken skin were a problem. The sister gave up on handcreams creams and gave me a large pot of lanolin. Very effective treatment.
