Neoprene for raw water.
nitrile is much harder , wears out quicker, distorts quickly, cracks quickly and wrecks very quickly if run dry.
nitrile is oil resistant which in my opinion is a useless quality for a raw water pump.

neoprene tends to be much cheaper and is far superior, will last 5 years in leisure application compared with a season with nitrile that even if never used will distort and crack in the housing.

it’s a long time since I owned VP but back then VP supplied nitrile as standard , throw away the nitrile and install neoprene
If there's a better alternative to genuine Volvo impellers for a KAD300, i'd be all ears. I replace mine annually out of habit and it seems a shame! Either way, I remove the impellers every winter (boat is out of water) and they do indeed maintain their 'bent' forum after being in the engine 6 months. It does seem a bit crazy to be replacing an impeller after 6 months (maybe 70 - 80 hours) use.

Have you considered refitting the impeller the following spring for a second 6 month stint , or longer (if it is undamaged).

Jabsco impellers are Neoprene - see below , which is the material recommended above.

Just getting back to the Neoprene impeller - does anyone have a link to a Neoprene impeller for KAD(300)? I'd be interested to try it.

Isn't there an even simpler way using a bolt as the impellers have a thread for this (Volvo branded). The other issue for some will be the space available in front of the impeller to fit that tool. Currently use water pump pliers but can damage the impeller blades, so not good if just inspecting.
This was actually a motivator for me purchasing genuine Volvo. I went and bought that little tool. I then realised that on the KAD300, the shaft (engine side) comes all way out the protrudes the threaded section of the impeller, so useless! When I asked on the forum (afterwards, of course), I think it was VP that confirmed that!

The Volvo impeller I got has no thread, it would be handy if it did!
