Just off to work...Merry Xmas

And to you

I am just going off to work (got to keep 'em flying!).

Merry Christmas & a Happy Boating New Year to you all!

Paul

My ex wife is about to take 300 people to LA at 12, why oh why do folk want to fly today!

Still I get to keep the kid all over Christmas! and she did not wake up till 0900 today...RESULT!

All w*rk done, now back with the family. Double time & a day off in lieu... money for old rope.

A little anecdote about the airline with red tails that Richard's ex-wife works for....

Some years back they started an Engineering apprenticeship. Overalls were produced with "Virgin Apprentice" on them. These were rejected as unsuitable.

The next attempt was "Apprentice Virgin"!

Oddly this was not popular either!

:)

No Ross, the Technicians do the easy stuff like that! I get all the defects and ADDs. Plus, from Boxing Day, the additional work required subsequent to the incident over Detroit....

:(

Yesterday flights to the US were delayed by 2-3 hours due to additional security on passengers. The TRMs were not happy bunnies!

Jargon, jargon, jargon!

OK, here goes:

TRM = Turn Round Manager. AKA "Redcap". Used to be called Dispatchers. The role Ross performs so well...

:)

LAS is the 3 letter code for Las Vegas' McCarron International Airport.

JFK is the 3 letter code for New York's J.F.Kennedy International Airport.

YGC is an aircraft registration (short for G-BYGC).

A pod is an engine assembly. A double pod scrape means that "Nigel" landed one wing low and scraped the engines along the runway. This is not the accepted standard for landing and will result in a meeting with his manager WITHOUT tea and biscuits......

Simples!
:)
