The Southampton based Jubilee Sailing Trust has the only Tall Ship in the world that can be crewed by a mixture of disabled and non-disabled people. Covid has hit their finances badly due to limited opporunties to sail and have only just started their regular voyage programme. They need to raise £500,000 in five days and a total of £1.2M by the end of September. They are hoping their emergency fund raising will be as effective as 2019 when they raised £1M in five days.

Very sad but do the required amounts secure their future or simply delay the inevitable? A read of their accounts at the charity commission show a £608,000 wages bill for key staff (not including sailing crew who are agency staff) which with an income of just over £2m p/a seems an awful lot.
