John Rodriguez Yacht sales

Hi John, no connection I'm afraid.

I had no idea there was anybody else out there using Jonic. When my wife Nicola and I joined the forum some 20 plus years ago we needed a username and came up with the highly creative idea of splicing John and Nicola together!

Hence Jonic.
I bought (probably when it was first published) and read the book that your wife (iirc) wrote about your sailing ventures; my memory is becoming dull and I cannot remember if it was a circumnavigation?

I remember photos of you on a sand bar, possibly with turtles or stingray? in some exotic location and securing your boat and helping others (iirc) in readiness for an hurricane at some marina.

I think you started your business upon your return.

I hope I still have the book somewhere. I am not very organised.

Hi Cerebus

You are indeed correct. But it wasn't a circumnavigation as we had a Hurricane and two children along the way, but we were away for 8 years on and off and covered western Europe, western Med, Atlantic crossing, Caribbean, Cuba, Virgin Isles, Bahamas and East coast USA as far as New York coming in and out of the ICW.

There were several photos as you describe, some of them below, when I was aged somewhere between 35 and 40. Now I'm 58 (where did that go) and have begun to leave the car keys in the fridge.
