Hi there, I'm owning a Jeannau leader 805 from 2002 with a replacement motor. on a tour over the weekend I had a very strong mechanical sound at mid power (about 15 knots) in calm waters. I immediately slowed down, switched of the stuttering engine and checked everything. (but the prop) no smell, no oil, no water in engine compartment and all was fine until then anyway. I then carefully restarted the engine...it still sounded a bit rough but normalised and i motored in gear with a bit more than idle back with the boat. The z-drive worked normal (steering etc.) , rear and forward mode did work. I am in the service in 2 weeks, but wondered what this could have been (although I might find out it will be pricey anyway). any thoughts...? are there extra bearings between engine and z-drive which can fail partially etc?
