haha yes, very familiar, in fact the yellow phantom 16 boat mooring up is called body language if I remember right? he is a big skier, says at the same place as me! also my uncles boat is there to! :)

Ours is nearest on right, the nearest to camera on left is a 19' Arrowhawk belonging to a friend of ours down from Stoke and behind that a Maxum 1800SR3 belonging to another friend from Swindon. Both down again in the next couple of weeks along with one or two others - our little group cruising is really taking off! :)

Don't know that many on the Teign TBH - used to launch the 14' there a lot in 2010/11, but now tend to use Torquay/Brixham and leave in for a few days at a time, taking car and trailer home to minimise rip-off parking costs!

Will keep a look our for you in your new boat then...

Best regards,

Robin

Those engines are generally good and almost indestructible. Sounds fine in the vid. They are the 4 cyl version of the 6 Cyl tower of power, so you have a 5 bearing crank and needle bearings on the crank + big and little ends. The engoine was designed in the 60s but don't hold that against it - it's a fine machine but doesn't make modern emissions rules. That one is 1982 or 1983 model. It has the newer style ptt with two trim cylinders that have a captive ball bearing in the end of the ram - these can rust and are expensive to replace but if well serviced might be ok, and you can run them rusted if you apply plenty of grease often. There are loads of USA websites that will help you maintain and fix that engine. Spanner sizes are all A/F. Good luck with it
