Looking at the threads that I have posted to this week, my contributions have, on the whole, been grumpy (apart from my "hilarious" contribution to Nick2's engine crisis thread).

Is it just me or is anyone else who is not using their boat feeling the same. Big lump of plastic still costing a fortune sat in the marina carpark and not giving anything back.

As soon as I get it out on the water these feelings disappear and I don't care whatever it costs but it feels like a long time since I had a return on my "investment"

Never mind its off to Spain in four weeks.

I know how you feel - but she is back in the water now. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

The one weekend it looks set to be fine I've got to do a duty free run to Calais and back (SeaCat) and to top it all off... it's Valentine's weekend!! /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

Feeling sooooooo bad it had to post it twice! /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Oh, forgot to mention that the solicitors are now involved with pursuing a claim for poor workmanship against the previous boatyard that carried out the refurbishment of Popeye!! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif/forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

I think I know how you feel, I only have to count down the days to the next weekend I can get on the boat. Perhaps leaving it sat in the marina carpark is not the answer. I do hope Spain helps.

Hello and Welcome. Hope you enjoy the forum as much as I do.

Yes I have spent most of the winter wishing it was in the water, but afyer the problems in WMV last week (See Nautaurious' thread for details) I am actually pleased to be in the Car Park (just fed up about it thats all).

My Boat is winterised so although I go up to it, I can't use it. I just sit there and wait for the time that the petrol costs start to empty my pockets once again. At the end of the Season I think ‘thank goodness, I will have a little cash for once’ and at the start of the season I think ‘hey who needs cash when you have credit cards’.

Fortunately I have access to one of those plastic tubs with a little noisy thing on the back and a great big lump of canvas. At least I can get out even if it is fighting the elements at 5 knots and sitting at a very strange position and steering with what looks like a wok handle!

Only 9 more weeks to Easter and then the wraps come off,

N.

The only big lump of plastic costing me a fortune at the mo is my Merc V230. I am definately gonna sell it. Had to have a new ball joint at 26k miles but they dont do ball joints you have to buy the whole wishbone.

Have to disagree, buy British, Range Rover best car and with VIP service package £500 everything apart from Tyres and tax are covered for the first 75,000 or 5 years, only done 17,000 and it already saved me £350.

I have the answer...don't winterise. keep using all year apart from a week in early June-get it ashore for a week and do everything that needs to be done then.
