If it's for your wife, then an iPad mini is what I would recommend. I love mine and I use it every day. All my friends have Apple.I'm disappointed that after 4 pages, I'm still no wiser.

Mrs Moron has strongly hinted that she would like an ipad for Christmas. I am pretty ignorant of such devices but have a feeling that some models would have some potential for use on my boat. Mrs M doesn't do boats. Which model should I get her?
You will get posters suggesting android. Ignore them ( and I use only android myself so no silly prejudices here) . The point is that Apple have designed their kit to be used easily by people who havent the slightest clue abour or interest in computers. They simply want them to work. So you will pay extra for this but SWMBO will be happy.
If Apple is so easy to use, why are the shops full of guides of how to use them?

For the same reason that streets are very easy to use, but a map helps you get the best out of them.

I can use Apple and I've never looked at a guide!
