Hii. Imn thinking of buying an iona23. Fibreglass hull & cabin. 4berth masthead sloop. About 23ft long. Hull looks like a Pandora but with a traditional long keel.
Designer believed to be A. Buchanan.. Please could any body help with the Identity of this little yacht. Thanks.

I have not heard of this boat myself, but I have found a reference to an Iona 23 from the mid-seventies which was said to be designed by Bengt Soderberg and built by HC Banham. Four berths, good headroom, quite heavy with a good ballast ratio (3,539 lb and 1,680 lb). The boat was said to be popular but I have never come across one in this country so maybe it was popular in Scandinavia.

I owned one of these boats for 3years and can tell you that they are sturtdy little yachts.Mine was power by an 8hp outboard. Although long keeled these boats sailed very well,can stand up to their canvas and perform well in big seas.These are not very common boats but I know of 2 lying the Clyde area
