Inflatable repair

I have never tried to repair a seam but have found that a repair to a hole can be quite difficult to achieve if the hole is large. Which glue you need to use depends on whether the boat is hypalon or PVC. If you need to make a sizeable repair I would go for the 2 pack adhesive.
Polymarine make repair kits and glues for both Hypalon and PVC but since it is a seam I would seriosuly consider getting it repaired professionally. Most PVC seams are welded (I think) so you would probably have big problems getting a repair to work. Hypalon seams are glued, they certainly are on my old Avon, so should be less difficult to repair.

Most PVC seams are welded (I think) ...

I believe this is the case with better quality PVC dinghies, but cheaper boats may have glued seams, which are less reliable, especially in hot weather.

Hypalon is much easier to glue successfully than PVC, so the glued seams of Avons etc don't have the same problems as glued PVC seams.

If the seam has given way over a large area I'd second the idea of getting a professional to look at it, although if the damage can be covered by a large patch (with at least 1 inch of overlap all round) a diy repair may well be feasible.

I have successfully glued several long sections of seam between the tube and floor on our PVC Zodiac ..... Trouble is, as soon as I have glued one section, another section parts company!

I am using Polymarine 2 pack adhesive
