I'm an idiot x2. I did it twice this year. So used to having 2 strokes before I think. Yamah 4hp. Oil locked both times. Locked solid. No oil spill though. Removed plug and turned over to eject oil into a rag. Topped up oil, cleaned plug, replaced it and restarted 2 or 3 pulls. A bit smoky for minute or two. Now ok. Just a bit of upper cylinder lubricant.

Welcome to the club (y) :ROFLMAO: .... mine still turned over with no effort so I'm OK ... and the carb should be OK too as it is EFI. It is a beast, so an engine crane and davits which will hold RIB + motor + fuel tank are on order.

I wish. My Mariner 3.5 is a badge engineered Tohatsu, and it has a right side and a wrong side. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to matter if it's the wrong way for a few seconds. That and the weight are why I regret my 2T Tohatsu that I foolishly allowed to be stolen
Maybe it's just the newer ones.
My 6hp can be laid on either side (new 2023 )
