For £25 they dont even laminated it now, just flimsy paper with faded ink, i could photoshopped a better product better myself.

It would be so much easier for everyone to register on Part 1 instead of have to stump up £25 every five years![]()
Which also expires every five years...

BUT didnt used to, until they wanted "to keep their records up to date", (they were always up to date) & realise that they had a "cash cow" readily available.
My previous boat is Part 1 & i just paid a "one off "fee to change ownership.
Why would one want to do that? Survey is costly and renewal is £75 every 5 years, plus many boats do not have the documented history to meet the registration requirements.
Registration is not compulsory and only required if you take the boat into international waters and visit another state.
So, neither easier nor cheaper.
I think I may just complain.

We are currently working towards digitalisation and this is a first (albeit) small step towards electronic documentation. "
Bloody Cheek! In the meantime please feel free to laminate the document yourself."
I'm intrigued to know in what sense not bothering with the laminating is a 'step towards electronic documentation'.![]()
