Having a few moments to spare I laminated my ships radio licence 
It would be so much easier for everyone to register on Part 1 instead of have to stump up £25 every five years![]()
Don't they send you a PDF?(I should add that I have a comparable take on of insurance insurance documents. The 'original' of mine has for years been digital, even down to the signature of the company's certifying officer.)
I'm intrigued to know in what sense not bothering with the laminating is a 'step towards electronic documentation'.![]()

They seem to be accepted as an original these days, even by the Spanish!

Presumably can save (some) cost and effort by sending their digital file directly to a mail company who prints and puts in envelope and mailsort sequence automatically.
But certainly lacks any official document credibility.
