I have just renewed by SSR

Interesting issue re digital SSR registration (if it ever happens, and I suppose inevitably it will). In a long and tortuous thread a few years ago, it was established (somewhat) that French law required the original of registration documents. So...exactly what is an 'original' in this digital age?

(I should add that I have a comparable take on of insurance insurance documents. The 'original' of mine has for years been digital, even down to the signature of the company's certifying officer.)

I'm intrigued to know in what sense not bothering with the laminating is a 'step towards electronic documentation'.

Presumably can save (some) cost and effort by sending their digital file directly to a mail company who prints and puts in envelope and mailsort sequence automatically.
But certainly lacks any official document credibility.

Isn't that what they do already?

I think what they're intending to do is just send you a digital document, and if you want a hard copy you'll have to print it yourself.

My point was that the laminating is nothing to do with digitisation as such.
