hull blasting on Jersey

Being on Jersey feel I should reply, but not one of much help. I have seen it done once around by the car park area of La Foli pub, looked like some kind of carborundum powder. This was 5 years ago. Seems it might be an expensive proposition on Jersey, if it is just to clean it wouldn't taking it over to the S coast and having it I blasted be best?

But looking in the yellowpages gives:

CMB construction 07797 813997
Jet Blast solutions 07797798187
PCS limited 07797723756

Good luck with it and let us know how you get on.

If it's water blasting as in pressure washing that you mean, then most of the marine service companies would be fine. Might be worth contacting Phoenix marine though as they were doing an introductory offer recently which you might still manage to get. If its grit blasting then I can't add anything to the names given in the previous post. As far as I know, no-one does soda blasting here yet.

Thanks you Stav for taking the time to look these up. i have contacted them all and hope to get quotes over the next couple of days.

Interestingly it's the total likely cost that's encouraged me to investigate gettting the work done in Jersey. The lift, launch and storage ashore costs are a third of south coast figures. Grace is a big boat (52', 17tonnes) and the smaller lower costs yards on the S coast don't seem to have the crane capacity.

I do need a blast rather than a pressure wash as its prep for coppercoat antifouling that i have in mind.

I'll report back when i have arranged something.

All the best
Dave
