Anyone managed to get a Hudl 2 car charger? Gonna be tricky to run a Nav program without an inverter or a car charger and knowing the history of these devices I don't suppose a 'normal' car charger will do it:p

I don't know what charger is used by the Hudl. If it is USB then this might be of use:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Dual-Ch...-Splitter-Power-Outlet-Adapter-/151631672792?

I installed one last week, next to the cigarette lighter, because I think that a properly wired socket is more reliable. So far I have used it for my Kindle and for my iPhone, two essential companions when I am at anchor. If you have space on a panel for a 30mm hole (I didn't need to use the rectangular bezel) I would suggest that you consider a dedicated socket.

p.s. Don't ask me why they include "cigarette lighter" in the description; I haven't the slightest idea!

I have the same thing.

You do have to be a bit careful about the charging leads. Some seem to put the gadget - phone, Hudl, or whatever, into slow charging mode. I use these, which do charge at the maximum rate the gadget can accept: http://www.amazon.co.uk/PortaPow-Ch...&qid=1436284142&sr=8-1&keywords=portapow+lead

I've found one or two micro USB plugs are the wrong way round. They have an arrow or triangle on them suggesting that is the top........and its not, but they go in fine upside down..as it were. Either that or they have a misleading sign on the moulding.

Of all the plugs they could have chosen as the common standard I think the micro USB is pretty naff to be honest.
