HLB

We had the Mucky Farter ditty a few days back. I think he's suffering witrhdrawal symptoms, MF is up for sale.

Not only HLB but a good number of the NW mob are AWL or gone very quite.
Even Kwaker is noticeably without verse.
Notably MC some "Berk" upset him and he's gone and done a bunk down a hole.:(
Of course We have a nice little niche where all could make fair comment but sadly that corner of the "Community Group" has not seen much activity for some time as well.
So come on Chaps including our good friends HLB, MC and Co get fingering the old key boards.

It definately seems that the crack is dying out,I hope its only a lull.

Do you mean crack or craic? :p

Haydn is still around, saw him just the other week, along with Englander, who was visiting darkest Lancashire, not heard from the Major, although I have had contact with LittleShip, apparently he is living the life of a 'sea gypsy' if you can say that these days!!

Posted in the lounge yesterday so not far away. I think Searush's comments are probably spot-on - suffering withdrawal and trying not to make it worse by all this talk of boats... :( I don't know the full story behind the prolonged absence from the boat or the sale, but following his comments on a thread the other week that 'his legs won't take him there', so whether physical or disenchanted I would surmise that it's very frustrating! Perhaps he's just avoiding boaty conversation whilst the sun is out?

Yep, been quieter than usual
'Things' to sort out
Now sorted
'Normal' -- service will be resumed, sooner than yerd like:D
hlb, spoken to him recently
Yep, his legs are giving trouble and his back
Never liked his front anyway 'Snarf Snarf':)
MF is up for sale and is in Conwy on the hard
Deep down H doesn't want to sell Her and He won't mind me saying so
But the walk to the pontoon from the car park is a real struggle for Him
So the next step (scuse pun) is difficult
It must be hard to drum up Forum enthusiasm when yer canna get ter yer vessel and join in on the banter and craic on the water, like We do!!

I mostly just skim through here these days, cant find much to interest me.

I mainly look at the lounge, but dont post much.

Yep, the back and legs have got me. So I havent seen the boat for months. It stops being fun when it's just a very painfull experience.

Furum Burgees, a bit disapointing, 30 odd burgees ordered, so I ordered 20 from me flag man.

I've still got 10 here.

Years ago, mobo used to be just, fun, fun , fun and increadably busy. Now hardly anything happens apart from mending stuff.

I'm bored with answering questions about. How to handle a boat with no bow thruster.

Only to be told a thousand times, that I've got a fetish about BT's. Till the info is drowned out.

I thought as the old rat pack faided away, others would join in, one or two did, but it was a rare event and they were mostly working on there own.

The North Wales mob gave some respite, but hardly enough of them to entertain the whole forum.

Suppose the diesel costs have made a difference and there are few adventures anymore.

Well its nice to know that you are both well and still posting,I dont look any further than this forum so i havnt seen your posts.Panic over-------

This is the only forum I visit as I find all the information and time that people post on this forum is invaluable and it is free, about the only thing that is in boating. i follow all the posts from the old hands ie volvopaul, latestarter, jfm, kwackers, mapism, hlb,PaulGooch,NickH,Nautical, epervier and anyone else I missed out. These people have massive boats and still give their time to post and answer questions on anything they can help with, even if the answer has been answered a hundred times in previous posts . they are obviously all addicted to boating and I am one for sure have benifitted from it . If I had more experience and years on the water then I would post more but I don't, but I do read everything that is posted any the info is brilliat . So I thank you all

Seconded! Having only been using these forums for a year and only actually registered last autumn and posted, I've been very impressed with the selflessness and wisdom imparted by many of the established contributors. It is very much appreciated by folk like myself who don't have many such informed contacts in our own circle of friends. Hayden, if I lived closer I would gladly offer my assistance to help you get aboard and prolong use of the boat a little longer but a bit of a trek from Devon! :o As a child I watched my Mother struck by Rheumatoid Arthritis in her late twenties and by the time she was in her mid-30's she couldn't walk unaided and her hands were bordering on useless - I was about 10 so learned quickly to be self-sufficient and find ingenious means to make the impossible possible - not forgetting her gritty determination. It always seems that fate/health deprives the active and hard working people of their interests when there are so many layabouts in society. :( My Mother had many interests taken away and I witnessed first hand the frustration that it brings. Perhaps a berth with closer/easier access could be negotiated - although I'm sure this has been considered? If you do end up selling then maybe an occasional charter might still be an alternative to total withdrawal? Good luck whatever and thanks for the informative contributions - perhaps we need to start a contentious 'anchor' type thread on bow-thrusters as an incentive to keep the interest up... :D

MC is alive and well, we went a bike ride with him to Caernarfon last week, managed to get a pint out of him! He's off the forum at the moment, he's a bit cheesed off with it due to the recent upsets I think, he's busy working too.

Tom's up north as you know, Kwackers is busy all the time, we've been doing a bit of boating, might put a few pics etc on in the next day or two. HLB pops up now and then but isn't boating any more.

sorry if I'm intruding but bad backs I know about, some are made to feel much better by a GOOD osteopath. I went to portugal at one time to get mine sorted and it worked a treat. I now have a good one only 30 miles away and it makes life so much easier if you want his number I will give it you?

As a relative newcomer, you must have adventures - everyone else does. Tell us about them - in an amusing a style as possible. That's what keeps people interested & posting. Don't forget to exaggerate & fib if it makes the story funnier - never let the truth spoil a good story.

Edit:
Oh, Beggar; I've just read your other post - please accept my apologies, & best wishes for a prompt repair & limited costs to you. You are in a very challenging area; L'Ecrohous with it's widely scattered rocks, huge tides & currrents is somewhere I would be VERY careful in & I have 2 big iron keels to feel my way around the rocks with.

MF is on crutches on the shore. Cant see her putting up with that for long.

I expect she's slowly waddling off towards the sea. If you see her, tell her to slow down a bit, she needs her bum done first. Tell her, me and kwackers need a ride to Glasson Dock. But not to be in war mode, She needs to be in hospital ship mode again and she's not got to blow up Blackpool tower.

Tell her that the doctors coming round, to make sure that she's fit. All private medicine of course.

Tell her that once in Glasson, she can do her own thing, but woe betide her if she's not back when we need her. She'll be in the south of France or some place I suppose.

Owning a magic boat is really difficult, it's mostly a battle of wills and strong ropes.
Havent seen her for a good few months, bet there been some adventures.

Would you believe MF started life on Windermere, bet she hated that.

Since then she's combed the English Channel and the Irish sea.

Can anyone remember the panto's she did with her mate Harry the Donkey, playing the part of Dick Wittingtons Cat.

Dirty Harry, another story.

We saw MF last week H, she's still looking shiny and smart and ready for action. We were talking about you and Debs over the weekend, we had a barbie on the beach again.
