Thank you Steve C, don't know why I didn't post on the Thames forum. As a Thames and sea boater, my wife and I did oxford to cherbourg on one holiday, I should have remembered the Thames boaters often stray out of the non tidal bits.

As for the henley offshore group, thoroughly recommended. A warm welcome is extended to all who love boats, power or sail, salt or fresh, which is of course how it should be. An enjoyable evening is guaranteed IMHO. I would go to them all if they didn't clash with my dayskipper course.
