Hi all,

I went to the Helsinki boat show on opening Saturday and had a quick look around the new Finnmaster Grandezza 39. This is their biggest model yet and I think a respectable attempt into the 40-feet market. I was with my kids so my observations were admittedly a bit heisty.

It'll be interesting to see how the design works out on the water.

A wet bar by the bbq.

Saloon worked fine and big windows make it airy. I liked the ability to close off the aft end of the saloon.

Big sunroof

Galley was a few steps down from the saloon and very spacious

The big novelty at this size is the full beam owners cabin which, although a bit low, was a very good effort considering the size of the boat.

Forward cabin was the usual affair

Single heads had a separate shower. The lack of 2nd heads is not a big deal in Scandinavia, but might be a deal breaker in other markets.

I didn't have a look around the engine bay and completely missed the storage options (which are bound to be limited, btw).

All-in-all the build quality, I thought, was suprisingly good (especially the woodwork) but I would like to have seen less bare grp in some areas. This was hull #2.

This beauty was parked outside, as if to highlight the hostility of our climate :)

Yea, that is some work on the veneer matching !
Quite a few corners to bash into, perhaps, but then so do many other boats.

Very smart, I like the wood finishes, was the saloon floor wood or effect. The full beam cabin looks great and amazing on a boat that size. All important question, how much?

The floors were solid wood with those engraved grooves for decoration. Looked nice but might trap dirt, i suppose.

I'm going again on thursday, so I'll have a closer look on the whole boat.

Nice pics thanks. Great looking boat too.

Nice comparison with the V52 outside as it reminds me of a mini V52 with the layout and the enclosed wheelhouse.

Does it say how much one of these is?

I only now caught up with the latest MBY and realized that none of the reference 40-footers have second heads either.

Went back to the show yesterday and took one more picture of the helm.

As I thought, no lazarette but storage lockers under cockpit seats and a large opening hatch for fenders on the bathing platform.

Prices start at €389.000 with D4-300's and go to €450.000 with D6-400's.

I liked.

Just as an interesting, at least to me, bit of info I thought I'd bring this up again. Last weekend I talked to a gentleman whose Grandezza 31 OC (hull #1) was moored opposite to us. He knows the owner of Finnmaster well (who build Grandezzas) and was in fact involved in the designing of the 31. Anyway, according to him 20 of Grandezza 39's have been sold already, mostly exports. Considering that the boat was first introduced in Feb and with the times being what they are, I think that's pretty good going from a relatively small manufacturer whose turnover was just 366k€ in 2008. Glad to see them doing ok, I just hope they can cope with the pace though...
