Has anyone been to LIBS today?

If so, what was the mystery small Fairline that they've been promoting?

Anything else of interest?

Been there all day today, only went on a couple of boats, spent most of day looking around and talking with friends, it seems to get smaller each year and not much outside this time.
Still worth a look though.

Yes been at lbs today. It was not at all busy and there was plenty of space to walk where you wanted and spend time on the stands that were there. The usual suspects were there fair line, sun seeker and princess on large presence stands but not a lot more. Where lbs used to be both sides of excel this year it's hard for them to fill one side, hence load of stands on staying well, wine tasting, outdoor furniture, cars and the like. As I had no real reason to visit I actually enjoyed wandering around and being casual about things and so I found it a good day out. But if your there to compare boats I don't think the selection was available.
I spent some time looking at these wi fi aerial boosters as I want to fit one but could not get my head around the big difference in prices and what is the better and easier to use. Peeps on the stand confused me even more.
Oh I also did not see much real selling or buying going on so will be interested in what the trade says.

Lovely Chris craft stand, wouldn't mind one of those as a tender, run about.

Hiya, I was there today, all day, excellent.

The new Fairline - 'mini X' is classified and only a few of us were allowed to see it behind the scenes. I was sworn to secrecy but I can tell you it was impressive, I just can't see how they put so much into a 31 footer and kept the lines, cabins and performance. Well done Fairline!

Great show from the usuals like Fairline, Sunseeker and Princess. I don't know how they do it. Everytime, stunning boats, display and service. (especially in the hospitality areas, thank you muchly)

The Chris craft boats did look nice they do an excellent simile of the Rivas' at a sensible price. The little 'Topaz' sailing cats from Topper looked good as an entry for all and pretty much indestructible, really tuff!

Loads of nice extras, lights (some bloo) track-vision to admire, shiny stuff everywhere and some really nice ribs, value from Piranha and superb quality from X Ribs.

I wanted to look at boats today but also discuss finals on my new to me boat, arriving in a few weeks. Nearly done now, almost a refit by Essex boatyards, really coming together now and so much done to bring this one back up to scratch as she had been some what neglected and left out to dry out in the Med sun.

I always enjoy the shows and as always bumped into quite a few familiar faces, shame I couldn't make it on Thursday but I'm sure you will enjoy what's on offer. The show is not massive so you can get round in a day with little time pressure. The bars are known to slow one down so take care in these areas.:o

Nice day and a good place to be in this awful weather.:encouragement:

If you find yourself walking between the Princess and Fairline stands please come and join us on the Venture Cup stand. We've got a beautiful Predator 337 (our official race start boat), a Cigarette Bubbledeck, and the legendary 'HTS' raceboat which won the London to Monte-Carlo race in 1972 .....spent 30 years out of the water ....found a crazy new owner ...and had been brought bursting back to life - so much so, that she's racing in this June's London to Monte-Carlo race. We're not selling anything at the stand, so there's a relaxed atmosphere ....aside from the crazy powerboat racers.

Thanks Roger, what was behind the screens, was it just the display board with the artists impressions (as per the above) or an actual boat?

Sounds interesting. I hope you'll be starting a new thread with all the before and after pics?

Brilliant marketing strategy then. Build a concept boat to gauge public reaction and then hide it behind a curtain so the public can't see it:rolleyes:

A 30' outdrive boat. Brilliant, just what the market needs. The marketing dept must have worked overtime designing the curtain.

Sorry Pete, I have to 'Fess-up'. :(

All I saw behind the screens was the hospitality area, nothing about their new concept and honestly, you know as much as I, just playing silly buggers as I was there. :o

Blimp,

Now these were mean looking boats, under the bonnet so to speak, was beautiful and the amount of time and money spent on the dash instruments and control levers must have been muchly. The sound system made those little Renaults, Saxos' and Corsas' sound like transistor radios too. I know they're not to everyone's taste on here but you have to say the finish was beautiful and they look fast just standing on chocks.

You have a point but the 30' market exists and there has to be higher volume unit sales in this area than the over 50ft+. It makes sense to see if they can grab back some of the market they used to lead with Sunseeker.

The small Targa 30 was a great little boat and a tough entry level act to follow. Sealine also did really well here as owners could move on up through their range.

Makes me wonder if Sealine should go back to their roots as they struggle with the current slab sided offerings.

Jimmy can you have a look at the rib eye stand if you get time and see if they have much choice in the 2.3-2.8 range in the tl model

cheers shawn

Hi Shawn

Their website will tell you what models they've got in that range; at the Southampton show they often show all the models in the range, but I'd be surprised if they do the same at London - usually it's just a selection. What info were you specifically after?
