Thankyou…..myself having doubts,do I really want or need a new(tome) boatNo, Wansworth is very genuine, and he uses the word gay in the original sense, meaning happy.
I think it would be a nice steady broad reach on a passage, with no squalls about - nothing too hair raising. Had enough hair raising (and hair losing) episodes in the past.

One of mine is the engine and it’s surroundingsAll of the above! But at different times, generally.
Yes, boat maintenance and costs.
One man's stress is another man's challenge. But is it not the marginal conditions that we find ourselves in and with our skills come out well enjoyable and pleasing and dose tend to forget and have to go through the stress again next time we are in marginal conditions?
Sound advice?Our boat's motto is
"When in trouble, when in doubt,
Run in circles, scream and shout."?
We hired a boat called Gay Lady from Potter Heigham.
Feeling the boat settle into its course as the sails fill for the first time.
Leaving sight of land.

Seeing a fulmar coming to say hello.
Revisiting a familiar harbour.
Visiting an unfamiliar harbour.
